The City of Fort Smith Utility Department has begun distributing FOG Permits and giving on-site training to local businesses within the City. The City’s FOG Program was established by Ordinance 89-16, to ensure protection of the public health, the environment, and to prevent damage to the City’s public sewer system.

This program is designed to provide local businesses with the proper tools and knowledge to prevent sanitary sewer pipe blockages that cause backups and sanitary sewer overflows. More information on the Fog Program can be found on our website on our commercial and residential FOG pages.
