KEEP FOG AND WIPES OUT OF PIPES

City of Fort Smith utility customers will receive a double-sided insert with their November 2022 billing statement containing information about the importance of keeping fats, oils, and grease (FOG), and wipes out of pipes. 

Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG) are a major cause of sanitary sewer overflows in the City of Fort Smith. As we move into the holiday season preparing more food than usual, the risk of clogged pipes and sewer related overflows increases. Remember to put fats, oils, and grease in the trash – NEVER down the drain! Also, keep in mind that nothing should be flushed down the toilet except human waste and toilet paper.
